New York City's classiest congressperson, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, walked down the red carpet and into the rarified air of one of New York City's biggest society events of the year last night, the Met Gala, resplendent in a tight-fitting, and very white, designer gown - and across the entire backside of the stunning gown were painted the words "Tax the Rich" in bright red lettering!
Message delivered - in style!
The Met Gala is an annual event that has been held since 1948 as a celebrity-studded fund-raiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
As AOC made her grand entrance, one had to be reminded of the time Melania Trump headed off to look down her nose at caged migrant children in Texas. As she boarded the plane to the Lone Star state, the alleged First Lady was rearing a hooded, $39 rain jacket that had the words "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" displayed on its backside. Melania's message was one of uncaring ridicule and detachment from the perspective of an immigrant who had acquired plenty of privilege through a smart marriage, while AOC's spoke to the need of sharing the privilege of wealth with the masses.

Plenty of America's obscenely wealthy and comfortable have already spoken out against the "costume" that AOC wore in her "stunt" yesterday evening. A ticket to the gala cost $30,000, and an entire table went for $275,000, for those who were fortunate enough to be invited to buy tickets to attend. Some tickets were purchased by the designers whose creations were worn by some of the stars in attendance. And most of the people who managed to finagle the opportunity to purchase a ticket and be seen with The Who's Who of high society and stardom were thrilled to be there - and be seen - and have their photos snapped.
But it was when Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez walked down the red carpet and into the room that the flash storm really hit!.
She certainly knows how to make an entrance - and deliver a message right where it needs to be seen!
