Arizona Grave Digger in the Ozarks

Nick, Boone, and I had lunch in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, today at the River Bend Restaurant, a very good home-cooking place that overlooks an idyllic portion of the Spring River.  One of today's attractions, in addition to the wonderful food, was a show that two playful groundhogs put on down next to the riverbank.  The waitress told us that staff and customers throw french fries to them off of the restaurant's deck.  And while that might sound a bit cruel, it is better than feeding french fries to children!

As we were leaving the restaurant we observed an unusual vehicle in the parking lot.  It was a big, black Hearse with a plastic skeleton hanging in the rear window.  The vehicle had an Arizona license plate that read:  GRAVDGR.  Not surprisingly, several people were taking pictures of the vehicle.

We went to the movies late in the afternoon and watched Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in "The Lone Ranger."  More on that in a later post, but suffice it to say for now that it is a great movie!
