Hunger Pangs

by Pa Rock
Citizen Journalist

I am sitting in my son and daughter-in-law's home in Roeland Park, Kansas, lamenting the fact that I am hungry. Damn, am I ever hungry!  There is nobody home except for me and Jack, the dog, and a couple of cats.  The kids are at school and the parents are out working and trying to survive in the Trump economy.  No one is intentionally withholding food from poor old Pa Rock, unless you count the sadistic doctors at KU Med who have me on a "clear liquid" diet all day today so that I will b ready for a medical procedure in the morning.  I'm reminded of prepping for those god-awful colonoscopies which I no longer have to take.  (When you've "aged out" of mandatory colonoscopies, you've probably outlived your warranty!)

Rosie didn't come with me, or she would undoubtedly be curled up at my feet commiserating with my hunger pangs.

Today I tried - multiple times - to write about "Elonville" and a rat in an Airstream trailer - with several false starts - but the words and thoughts just would not jell.

Maybe tomorrow will be better, but for now, I'm going to pop the top on a cold root beer and go lay down.

Hasta siesta!
