Hate Group Attacks Betty Crocker

by Pa Rock

Tony Perkins, president of a Christian hate group called the Family Research Council, has recently been railing against domestic icon Betty Crocker because the sweet old babe in pearls has offered free wedding cakes to some gay and lesbian newlyweds in Minnesota.   The fictional baking queen's parent company, General Mills (headquartered in Minnesota) has declared that "Betty celebrates all families . . . We don't want to be old-fashioned."

The Family Research Council was declared to be a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2010.

Perkins is apparently encouraging his radio listeners to support a "dump General Mills" boycott sponsored by another right-wing extremist organization, the National Organization for Marriage.

Memo to Tony Perkins:  The war against gay marriage is rapidly drawing to a close - and your side lost.   Maybe you should move on to greener pastures - like denying health care to the poor by repealing Obamacare.  Oh, wait.  You lost that one, too!

Something tells me that if Jesus walked into a gay wedding, he would perform the ceremony and supply the wine.   Jesus was not about hate, no matter how much some people would like to believe otherwise.

Eat more cake!
