Tired Voter
* * * * * Election Dispatch #9 * * * * *
It is almost 11:30 p.m. CST here in Missouri, and the national count seems to be about to stall out. The Associated Press has just called Ohio, Iowa, and Montana for Trump, and the current electoral vote is 223 for Biden and 145 for Trump. Fox News has apparently called Arizona (11 electoral votes) for Biden, but AP has not made that call yet - and apparently Trump and the gang at the White House are livid about the Fox call - regarding it as premature.
Several big states are still not tallied, but right now it looks as though Trump will win Florida (29 electoral votes) and Biden will win Arizona (11 electoral votes.). It also looks as though Democrat Mark Kelly will defeat Republican incumbent Senator Martha McSally in Arizona - in fact Kelly has apparently already given a victory speech.
Still outstanding are Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina - and those six states represent enough electoral votes to give the victory to either candidate.
Maybe we will know something tomorrow.
Slow and steady wins the race.
In the end it will be Biden.
It must be Biden.
Goodnight.
(And as I prepare to post this dispatch, the AP calls Florida for Trump. The current tally is now 223 for Biden and 174 for Trump.)
