Proud Grandpa
Today is the birthday of my only grandchild born in the last millennium. Boone Macy was born fifteen years ago today - right here in West Plains. He has lived in this community his entire life. Boone is now finishing his freshman year at West Plains High School where he has an amazing assortment of active and bright teachers - and an interesting assortment of good friends. He reports that he likes high school very much.
And liking school is the key component to becoming an educated person.
Boone and I will begin a lengthy road trip to Oregon at the end of this month. I have missed out on so much of his life, and I hope that we can use the time on the road to really get to know one another.
