Of Course Romney Would Cut PBS Funding

Of course Mitt Romney would cut funding to the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).  The nation's largest classroom doesn't fit his image of what America should be, so why fund it?    He did amend his criticism of the network that "we don't need" by saying that he likes Big Bird.  But his warm and fuzzy feelings toward Big Bird were, I suspect, just like so much of the rest of what he had to say in the debate last night - bald-faced lies.

I mean, he might like Big Bird if Bert and Ernie held frightened adolescent  boys down on the ground while Big Bird shaved their heads.  Big Bird as a sociopath would be a real hoot!  Or maybe if Big Bird taught the children who watch him on television some good old fashioned lessons on greed, and told them how to avoid paying taxes - and where to hide their money overseas so that the government couldn't get at it and use the money to help the nation's needy and oppressed.  Then the big yellow creature would be of some benefit to civilization - wouldn't he -if he taught kids that basic corporate value of "What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine"?

Perhaps if Big Bird got religion, Mitt would like him better.  Wouldn't it be great if he joined a church that contributed money to anti-gay ballot measures, or kept women in subservient roles within the church!

Oh, the possibilities are endless.  PBS shouldn't worry about a Romney presidency, they should just start reshaping their message to fit with Mitt's world view.  Shake that Etch A Sketch, PBS - and Big Bird will be just fine!
