Proud American
(Today's posting is somewhat dated, but I didn't want to let the moment slip completely by without giving it some attention in this space - so better late than never.)
Former FBI Director Robert Mueller died at the age of 81 last Friday. Mueller was a Princeton graduate when he volunteered to serve as a Marine in the Vietnam War where he was wounded and received a Bronze Star (with Valor) and a Purple Heart for his service. He later was an attorney and career government prosecutor who was appointed head of the FBI by President George W. Bush in 2001 and had been in office exactly one week when the terrorist attacks of 9/11 occurred. Mueller served as the FBI director for a full ten-year term and was then asked by President Obama to remain in the post two additional years. He finally retired after twelve full years of heading the nation's premier law enforcement agency.
Mueller also served as the Special Counsel who was charged with investigating the ties between Trump campaign officials and Russian operatives during the 2016 presidential election, as well as events leading to Trump's firing of the next FBI Director James Comey. Mueller was appointed to lead the investigation by a member of Trump's own Justice Department, and he was a registered Republican, but his appointment and investigation nevertheless enraged Trump, the world's most victimized individual, and he always harbored an anger against Mueller, even though the results of his investigation were obfuscated by Attorney General William Barr and blunted by political machinations in Congress - and wound up being more of an embarrassment to Trump that an actual political liability.
But, long story short, Trump nurtured his grudge and anger at Mueller for the next several years, and when the decorated American war veteran and patriot died last Friday, our extremely petty President, and chronic evader of the Vietnam war draft, Donald John Trump, had this to say:
"Robert Mueller just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRURMP"
Those who tout Donald Trump as the ultimate Christian need to do some serious soul-searching. Decent people don't speak that way about good people who have done so much for so many. The man they worship so openly is vile and disgusting.
Poor, poor Piggy.
