There has been a story in the news for the past week or so that shocked many people. It involves a ten-year-old little girl who had become pregnant through rape. She sought an abortion in her home state of Ohio, but the procedure was denied because Ohio has a statute that outlaws abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, and she tried to get the abortion six weeks and three days following the rape. The little girl had to travel to the more humane neighboring state of Indiana to have the unwanted pregnancy terminated.
What is even more shocking than a pregnant ten-year-old is the fact that there are people who are angry that the pregnancy was terminated. There were a whole host of people ready to rush in and rescue that baby and give it a good, loving, "Christian" home - and shame on that wretched child for aborting and spoiling their opportunity to have a perfect family pictured on a perfect Christmas card!
If a ten-year-old being raped and then forced to give birth to her rapist's baby is God's plan, then God is a sadist with a rotting soul. Legislators who force ravaged children to carry and deliver the babies of their rapists are also soulless slime-eaters. There is nothing "pro-life" about forcing a child to give up her childhood because of something that was never her fault and over which she had no control.
And while we're on the subject of ten-year-olds, there is nothing "pro-life" in drafting laws that allow people to purchase semi-automatic weapons (plural), large-capacity magazines, unlimited supplies of ammunition, and body armor on the day they turn eighteen so that they can then engage in a blood orgy of killing ten-year-olds in their fourth-grade classrooms.
People who are truly "pro-life" protect children - they don't force them to have babies and they don't flood the streets with weapons of war.
On this Fourth of July, let's focus on giving our children the freedom to enjoy their childhood and to live their lives in peace and wonder. Let's take the term "pro-life" back from the proselyters and politickers, and apply it once again to making the quality of life better for every child who is already here among us - kids who just want to play, and go to school, and have fun, and be happy.
It's time to end the war on children!

Those good Christians lining up to give the ten year old girl's baby a good Christian home neglected to show up when the child was raped. A child carrying a pregnancy to term most certainly will leave the child with mental, emotional, psychological, and physical issues.
A man raping a child is not doing God's will. His acts are an abomination. He should be arrested and, after a fair trial, be given a long prison term where the other prisoners will no doubt use him for sexual release; as he did the little girl. Of course that's cruel, but it is not unusual. He can't claim his punishment violates the Constitution.
