Virginia Thomas, Political Slug

Virginia "Ginnie" Thomas is the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.  She is also a right-wing slug who leaves a trail of ugly slime wherever she goes.  Ginnie  is a former consultant at the Heritage Foundation, and she has recently helped to found the reactionary Liberty Central and is serving as its president.  She has also been an attorney and labor relations specialist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, an organization not known for its love of fairly-paid American labor.  She is a right-wing extremist and proud of it.

This week Ginnie made news when she inexplicably telephoned Professor Anita Hill and asked for an apology for sworn testimony that Ms. Hill gave during the confirmation hearings on Uncle Thomas nearly twenty years ago.  Well, she didn't actually get to speak with Professor Hill, but she did leave her a voice mail.  To Professor Hill's credit, she did the responsible thing when she came across the weird call on her answering machine - she notified the F.B.I.  The F.B.I. is always a good option when dealing with crazy stalkers!

Ginnie's not-too-transparent objective in telephoning Professor Hill was to drudge up one more red herring to be slung around by a hungry press before the upcoming elections.  And it did provide an interesting diversion for a couple of hours.  Unfortunately for Ginnie Thomas and her teaparty lemmings, most of the news reports were critical of her strange behavior, and it gave the press a golden opportunity to look back at Uncle Thomas and his fascination with Long Dong Silver.

I, for one, enjoyed the walk down memory lane.  Thanks for the diversion, Gins!
