Happy Birthday, Mr. President

by Pa Rock
Proud American

Our President, Barack Hussein Obama, was born fifty-three years ago today in the state of Hawaii.   The young boy grew up in a household steeped in cultural diversity, and was given unique opportunities to learn from an international perspective.  Through gritty determination and hard work, he achieved a world class education which he subsequently used for the benefit of those in need by working as a community organizer on the streets of Chicago.

Now, of course, he works for all of us.

The social activist married Michelle Robinson, a woman who is his equal in every important respect, and together they are raising two fine girls.  The Obamas have a solid marriage and family life that has remained remarkably free of public concerns or scandals - even after nearly a decade in Washington, D.C.  They are terrific role models, setting an example from which we all can learn.

Barack Obama, his family, and his administration have brought a level of trust and respect back to the presidency that has been missing for a very long time.  He has not been consumed by corruption or incompetence like so many of his predecessors, and he has been able perform the duties of his office as a true statesman who is focused on making the world a better place for all people.   President Obama seldom allows himself to get distracted by the constant screeching from the loony right fringe who remain appalled that he has to gall to govern while black.

I am proud of our President, and I wish him well as he enters his fifty-fourth year.  Barack, you rock!
