Dog Sitter
My youngest grandchild, Sullivan Macy, and his dad, Tim, drove down Tuesday afternoon from their home in the Kansas City area so that Sully could go fishing with his Uncle Nick on Wednesday, Nick's day off from work. Sully, who will be ten next month, is quite the fisherman and never misses an opportunity to cast a line in the water. (He is also quite the basketball player, and his team won their league championship last season with a 6-0 record. Tim is their coach.)

Our big dog, Gypsy, who has only met Sully once, during a visit last November, was so happy to see him that she did everything BUT backflips! I thought she was going to have a stroke when Sully and his dad walked into the house, and she stayed at her boy's side constantly throughout the visit - but the poor girl did have to say home with Rosie and I while the Brothers Macy and Sully went fishing Wednesday morning.
Sully caught the most fish during the outing, including one bass in the three-pound range, which he said was his biggest catch ever. They were fishing at a catch-and-release pond maintained and run by the Missouri Department of Conservation, so he didn't get to bring his trophy catch home for dinner.
Sully and his family are going to Colorado in July for a family reunion where one member of the gathering is going to give hands-on instruction on fly-fishing. My grandson is definitely looking forward to that, yes he is!
The other highlight of the trip was dinner Tuesday night at a new restaurant in West Plains which specializes in Indian food and brick oven pizzas. We had a pepperoni pizza that was the best I've ever eaten - seriously - even the crust was delicious, and it was all spiced just right. Check out The Brick and Barrel the next time you are slumming around West Plains, Missouri!
Sully and his dad went home Wednesday after their fishing excursion because my grandson has basketball practice today - and neither he nor his coach wanted to miss that!
Thanks for coming to see us, Tim and Sully. Rosie and I will be up your way before too long!
