Rosie and I left the farm not long after six o’clock this morning and by noon we were playing with grandchildren in the Kansas suburbs of Kansas City. Traffic was thick and slow on this Saturday of Labor Day weekend, and the Missouri Highway Patrol was out in full force. In addition to being a holiday weekend, today is also the last day of the month, and the patrol probably has quotas to meet!
The skies were overcast for the entire drive, and the temperature coolish. The high today is expected to be seventy-seven degrees. How’s that for a high temperature on the last day of August!
We did see several vehicles pulling boats, so people are heading to the lakes for some late summer fun and fishing – and the cooler weather may help in getting the fish to bite.
But Rosie and I would rather spend our weekend playing with grandchildren than messing with smelly old fish!
