Texas is a strange place.
This past August 1st marked the 50th anniversary of the mass shooting at the University of Texas at Austin. The shooter, a UT student by the name of Charles Whitman, climbed to the top of the campus's famous clock tower and opened fire with multiple weapons. He picked off students and others for a couple of hours before being killed himself. This past August 1st was also the day that it became legal for registered gun owners to openly carry their guns into college and university classrooms in Texas.
Not everyone at the University of Texas was happy to see the new law come into effect. There were the expected protests of faculty members who did not want to have armed students sitting in their classes, and, in a move reminiscent of the 1960's, students began to protest as well. One group of students in particular is causing quite a stir on the Austin campus.
While guns may now be carried openly on the campuses of higher education in Texas, the "open carry" of sex toys is prohibited. A protest group calling itself "Cocks Not Glocks," has begun distributing dildos to students for them to carry to on campus. The group so far has distributed over five thousand of the life-like male organs, many of which were donated by local sex shops. One news source referred to this symbolic protest as the modern version of "make love not war."
Now when students gather on campus, the talk can immediately focus on "whose is bigger," regardless of which side of the controversy they represent.
