Nick Macy Is Another Year Older!

by Pa Rock
Proud Papa

Today is the birthday of my oldest, Nick Macy, and of my complete progeny, now numbering nine (three children and six grandchildren), Nick is by far the easiest for me to keep up with because we have shared a home for several years. - just Nick and I and the dogs.  It works out well, and while he or I may be disagreeable at times, Rosie and Gypsy never are!

Nick was born fifty-two years ago today at Camp Kue Army Hospital on the island of Okinawa., Japan.  He came home to the States when he was two-months-old.

My oldest likes to fish, a skill that he honed, often by himself, while growing up in the Ozarks.    One of his regular enjoyments in life is to throw a couple of fishing poles into the back of his old truck and head out to our local rivers or creeks for a little night-fishing.  He also has an old, and very classic, Ford Mustang which he works on and drives as a stress-reliever.

Nick has assumed many more household duties as well as the mowing and upkeep of our sprawling (ten-acre) yard during the past few years as I have been slipping rather ingloroiusly into my dotage.  He is a great help, and I truly appreciate that!

Nick has a 26-year-old son, Boone, who lives in southwest Missouri where he works as a guide in one of the Ozarks' premier tourist caves.  Neither Nick nor I get to see Boone nearly often enough.

Happy birthday, Nick.  May you be around to enjoy many, many more!
