What's Up with DADT?

I have been all over the Internets trying to figure out just what game President Obama is playing with Judge Virginia Phillips' decision to end the military's evil and indefensible "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" discriminatory policy against gay service members.  Some of the web sites say the President is requesting that Judge Phillips stay her own policy so that Obama won't have to get his hands dirty, others say he is asking for the "stay" because he does not have to decide whether to appeal or not until 60 days after she officially orders her decision to be enforced.  Sixty days would get him well past the midterms.  Some say he wouldn't dare appeal, others say he wouldn't dare not appeal.

Obama himself went on his Twitter account yesterday and made the promise that DADT would end, and it would end on his watch.

Promises, promises.

Barack Obama made a campaign promise that he would get rid of this terrible policy, but two years later what has the President done toward keeping that promise?  Absolutely nothing.  Now he is implying that his Justice Department will go to Court to try to thwart the decision of the woman who did charge forward to end the discriminatory and unconstitutional practice.

Mr. President, you were elected to make the changes that you campaigned on.  You were elected to lead.  If you can't or won't lead, get out of the way and let Joe Biden run things.  He won't pussyfoot around!
