What's for Dinner in America's New Detention Camps?

Remember during the last election season, about a year ago now, when Donald Trump and Fox News were busy lying nonstop about immigrants supposedly eating pet cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio?   It was shocking at the time, but Trump tells so many lies so fast that it is very hard to stay shocked for long over an individual whopper.  I had completely forgotten about the Springfield pet massacre, which was totally fictional, of course, until today when a story in the news reminded me of it,

The Aalborg Zoo in the northern part of Finland is advertising for small, unwanted (but healthy) pets to feed to the wild creatures that are incarcerated in their facility.  The zoo says it is trying to mimic the food chain that the animals experience in nature.  The nice folks at the zoo say they will "gently euthanize" the animals which are donated and then turn them into fodder so that there is no waste.  (Undoubtedly a health measure:  good food in, good poop out.)

The Aalborg Zoo is suggesting guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens as possible donations - basically any unwanted pet which has peed on the carpet one too many times, or crows incessantly too early in the mornings.

Fodderized family pets!  It makes one wonder "What's for dinner?" in America's new detention camps?

Barbarism, like fascism, is spreading.  Soon it, too, may visit our shores.
