Forbes Dumps Trump, but He is Still Eating Well

One of the standards of success by which Donald John Trump measures himself is his nearly regular inclusion in the Forbes Magazine annual list of the 400 wealthiest Americans.  Trump had been a regular fixture on the list since he secured a spot of the company's initial list in 1982 by lying to a Forbes reporter and telling his that he had a larger share of his father's wealth than was actually the case.  He has also been accused of impersonating a fictitious executive with his company over the telephone in 2018 to secure a spot on the list that year.

Trump was dropped from the prestigious list in 1990 when his casino businesses were in distress, and he was also dropped from the list in 2021, the year he left the White House, but he managed to get back on in 2022.  Now he has again been dropped.

The Forbes List of the 400 Wealthiest Americans is headed by the truly, obscenely wealthy - people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Larry Ellison.  When Trump does make the list his name is always near the bottom.   Elon Musk (Tesla and X) has a net worth of somewhere north of $250 billion.  Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com and The Washington Post) checks in at around $150 billion.  And Larry Ellison (Oracle) has an estimated worth of just over $135 billion.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, saw his net worth plummet last year from an estimated $3.2 billion  to a measly $2.6 billion this year - a full $300 million below Forbes' current cutoff point for their list.

Forbes, in defending its estimates of Trump's actual wealth, noted that he is currently in court over allegations that he routinely inflates the values of his property in order to obtain favorable bank loans, and that his media company, "Truth Social," is actually worth far less than Trump had claimed.    Forbes noted problems in high vacancy rates in Trump buildings in New York City and California, and observed that Truth Social has failed to become a serious competitor to Twitter (X).

But, on the bright side, even though Donald John Trump has suffered the ignominy of once again being dumped from the Forbes list of Wealthiest Americans, he does still appear to be eating well!

Praise Jesus for small blessings!
