Sunday Morning Kansas Style

Rosie and I are in Roeland Park, Kansas, for a weekend of catching up with some of the grandkids.  We drove up yesterday, a beautiful day to be out.  Today the skies are still clear, at least for now, but it is much chillier than yesterday.  The forecast is for possible wintry weather this evening.

The Macys who live here are all still sleeping, but Rosie and I have been up for a couple of hours.   We have gone to the local Casey's and brought home two bags of breakfast.  Now we are waiting for the family who lives here to wake - and for my 18-year-old grandson who lives on the Missouri side of the line to arrive for a visit.  Later today we have some errands to run, and tomorrow morning, if the roads are clear, we will head home.

Trump has us in a war with Iran, one that seems to be spreading across the Middle East.  From the reports I'm hearing, he can't even articulate a reason for going to war, but is fired up about it anyway.    Three US troops have already reported killed and five wounded.    This is definitely a time where some adult leadership would be of value, but instead we are saddled with reality TV bozos, Fox News personalities, and world class kooks.

Update:  the family members are all up and getting around, the 18-year-old grandson is here and seems to be doing fine, and we are about to head out to Winstead's in KC, MO, for lunch.

More from the road later.

UPDATE:  Early Sunday afternoon:  Sleet, lightning, and thunder.  I blame Trump!
