Dr. Oz Owns Twelve Homes but No Map

A celebrity multi-millionaire with twelve homes in his real estate portfolio will never have to worry about whether Tom Bodett has left the light on for him at a Motel 6 or not, but in case he ever does have to spend the night on the road, Dr. Mehmet Oz also owns a couple of hotels.

It must be nice.

In addition to his primary residence, a 9,000 square-foot mansion in New Jersey that has a view of the New York City skyline. the television peddler of miracle cures also owns a beachfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, a cattle ranch in Florida, and a 7,000 square-foot "farmhouse" in Pennsylvania that is currently being renovated before the the Doc and his Missus move in.  That will give Dr. Oz an official residence in Pennsylvania, the state from which he is currently running for a seat in the US Senate.

Three of Dr. Oz's twelve homes are outside of the United States.  They include a mansion in Ireland and two more modest dwellings in the celebrity physician's native country of Turkey.

With all of those homes scattered about the country and the globe, you would think that the owner would possess a good set of maps or an atlas and have more than a superficial understanding of geography, but alas, that does not appear to b the case.  A couple of days ago while speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News Monday, Dr. Mehmet Oz, a man who has been accused of being a "carpetbagger" in the Pennsylvania US Senate race, coughed up this gem:

"Pennsylvania is too important.  And listen, this is important, we do not have a Republican senator north of North Carolina on the Atlantic coast, until you get to Maine, if I don't hold this seat.   There's been a Republican senator in Pennsylvania most of my life, I'm gonna keep one here as well."

The problem with that statement, as any middle school geography student would quickly point out, is that Pennsylvania is not on the Atlantic coast.   The doctor is undoubtedly confusing Pennsylvania with his actual state of residence, New Jersey, which IS on the Atlantic coast.

Mehmet, if you are going to pretend that you are from someplace you aren't, buy a clue - or at least a map!
