The Royce Agency: Book Three

by Pa Rock
Proud Grandfather

Yesterday I finished reading the final book in a trilogy authored by my grandson, Sebastian Files, a fourteen-year-old middle school student in Oregon.  I like to read, and it is always exciting to have an opportunity to read works created by my children or grandchildren.

(Sebastian comes by his love of writing naturally.  His uncle, Tim Macy, is a professional screenwriter and a member of the Screenwriter's Guild of America who has had two of his works turned into feature-length motion pictures.)

Sebastian's three-book series is a work of fiction that tells the story of Charles Royce, a successful car designer and salesman, who learns as a young adult that he has inherited the responsibility for running a secret crime-fighting agency that has been under the control of male members of his family for several generations.  Sebastian's trilogy basically chronicles the life of Charles Royce as he takes his turn at running the secret agency.

I was impressed with Sebastian's ability to plot and keep the story moving.  The tale stayed fresh and interesting across the three volumes, and always held my attention.  The young author has a vivid imagination and was not afraid to let his story romp through a series of daring adventures like a gun fight in the city sewer system, a wild locomotive train chase, and dealing with a bear on a tropical island.  It seemed like there was never a dull moment during the years that Charles Royce was at the helm of the Royce Agency!

The Royce saga came to an end with "The Royce Agency:  Book Three."  I am anxious to see where Sebastian's interests turn next.

Good work, Grandson.   I am proud of you!
