Pa Rock's Dead Pool has suddenly become very active!
The pool originated in this blog in 2008. It's first year was lackluster with only one entrant, yours truly, correctly picking only one celebrity who would die during that year - Eartha Kitt - and her death didn't transpire until the very last week of the year! This year things weren't looking any better, but suddenly it has become a horse race!
Camille (a friend of my son, Nick) jumped into the lead on Tuesday when Ed McMahon packed it in. She earned 14 points for the death of the 86-year-old McMahon. Early this morning she was bumped to second place by Eva Husted of Kansas City with the death of Farah Fawcett. The 62-year-old former Charlie's Angel gave Eva 38 points. But Eva's lead was to be very short-lived. Michael Jackson's death this afternoon gave 50 points each to the following six individuals: Bobby, Iva, Mary (Sister Phillipia), Molly, Pat, and Ron. I can only hope that something happens to break that six-way tie for first place, or poor old Pa Rock is going to be shelling out some serious prize money!
Death Trivia: All three of this week's dead celebrities bit the dust in California, and Ed McMahon and Michael Jackson expired at the same hospital - UCLA Research. How weird is that?
Stay tuned for updates - the race is on!

Oh wow...I completely forgot about the Dead Pool...I had nothing to do with any of these deaths! But the race is on. Who else was on my list? - just kidding.
Don't you have more money than Michael Jackson's attorneys by now? You can afford to part with some of it. I too fogot, not about the "dead pool" but about some of the names I had on it. I had to search Rock's blog to find the "Dead Pool" after Farah died. I was sure that Kirk Douglas was gone too, but he is still kicking. I was getting pretty depressed that I had not guessed anyone yet. Imagine my delight when my son told me about Michael! To go from nothing to being a front-runner all in a day! Life can change in an instant- stick around and see what happens.
Pat
No, I don't mourn the passing of a Legend, he died for me when he became known as a pedifile. What is sad is that he was so gifted and so sick. It appears that a lot of us thought that he was not long for this world.

Unfortunately, Pat, I am more like Michael than his lawyers - a glamorous life with plenty of debt. I just got back from one cruise and am already thinking about another. Good thing there isn't a woman in my life to make me behave responsibly!
A complete list of Dead Pool entries is posted on the blog at January 2, 2009. Hope that you received tons of enlightenment as you read your way back to it!
Rock
I had to go back and see who else was on my list:)
And Rock, a woman to keep you responsible? What fun is that...there are plenty out there who would be happy to spend anything you have and some of what you do not have:)
Keep enjoying life and sharing your escapades - I enjoy reading about them.
The women my son meets want all his money and whatever he can get out of me. (Just stupid, I guess.) If you had a woman she would be taking all of the adventures and you would be left working two jobs. Be free...
